Beginning Again
Out of the dark you came to me
to show me the way through,
out to the other side of darkness.
I held your hand as the rain
slowed to a stop and the sun
peered out from behind the clouds.
The world turned from grey
to green again, as we walked away
together to find some new place
where we could build a new life
out of the remains left behind
by so many wasted days I spent
waiting for life to begin again
when all I needed was someone
to take my hand and show me how
to begin all over again.
